Driving Exam Tests Resume Starting May 11
Starting Monday, May 11, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is reopening driver testing services for all classes of drivers’ licenses
Driver’s tests were suspended on March 17 due to COVID-19. The MSHP is asking all applicants of the written and driving exam portions of the driver’s tests to wear face coverings and follow all social distancing requirements. Applicants of the skills test are also asked to arrive with a sanitized vehicle.
According to a news release from the Missouri High Patrol’s website, starting on Monday, May 11th, test operations have been resumed and it’s important to note that in addition to wearing a face covering during the test, test takers are asked to also wear them while at the actual Missouri testing facility that you are visiting.
The highway patrol asks that before you arrive for a skills or written test to postpone if you, a member of your household, a family member, or other personal acquaintance has been diagnosed with COVID-19, if you have had contact with any person diagnosed, or suspected of having, COVID-19, if a medical professional, hospital staff, or other health agency representative has asked you to self-quarantine or if you have an unexplained fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other symptom related to COVID-19 or another upper respiratory infection. If you’re unsure of any of these factors, please err on the side of caution and stay home.
The Missouri Driving School is tentatively finalizing our action plan to resume driving lessons on Monday, May 18th. There are currently no restrictions other than a requirement that students to wear masks. If you are unable to or if you are uncomfortable wearing a mask , please contact us ahead of time. For the safety of our students and drivers, cars are cleaned before they are placed into use each day and hand sanitizer is available for drivers.
