Wildwood Driver’s Education Classes

As cities in the St. Louis area go, Wildwood is a fairly young city, being incorporated in 1995. The youth of the city does not mean the area was unpopulated; however, the area that is now known as the City of Wildwood was, up until 1995, an unincorporated portion of St. Louis County. Residents came together to incorporate as a city to prevent the unchecked development of heavily treed land in the area.

Wildwood is on the very far west side of St. Louis County, ringed by Chesterfield, Clarkson Valley, Ellisville, Eureka, Pacific and Franklin County. The city is part of the Rockwood School District and has Lafayette High School within its boundaries. St. Louis Community College-Wildwood is south of Route 100 on Route 109.

Wildwood’s two best-known natural gems are Babler State Park and Rockwoods Reservation. The 868 acres of land that make up Babler State Park were donated to the state in 1930 in memory of general surgeon Edmund A. Babler, who graduated from Washington University Medical School (known at the time as Missouri Medical College), started a private practice and spent part of his professional time medically helping those who could not afford medical services. The park, which was formally dedicated in 1938, offers camping, hiking, picnicking, a paved bicycle trail and an equestrian trail.

If you are from one of the more than 12,000 households in Wildwood and want to learn to drive, Wildwood is a serene place to do it.
